The Sewing Shop

 The Sewing Shop

One of my favourite miniatures to create are these sewing rooms, because you can really get your teeth into them and make heaps of things to make your shop look well stocked. Again, apart from the unit on the left, I created all the other units and the corner area where the Machinist would sit quietly sewing away :0).

I made the shelving, wrapped mini spools with ribbon, created all the trimmings in the basket and made the wall pin board railing and pencils etc

I wrapped carboard with fabric, ribbons and lace spools. The balls of wool were created from coloured threads.

The dustpan and brush were made from chipboard and dried straw. The ribbon rack from cardboard.

By taking pictures from every angle, you can see more of whats in the shop, the desk I made from foam board, Pencils from skewers, glasses from wire, bolts of fabric from chipboard

Units from foam board and chipboard then painted

There certainly is a lot of work involved in doing a shop of this size and I sold this one shortly after it was finished to another Miniaturist for his wife! 👍

The little tables were made from mini spools and chipboard

The little rug was from wallpaper

The little jars I filled with beads and mini buttons and mini mini spools with ribbon wrapped around them. The unit was made from Balsa wood and the little feet were wooden door handles

For this particular miniature, Hubby built the room from MDF

I used chipboard for the unit with skewers for the rails

This unit I found at a carboot, then decided not to use it after I filled it lol

All of this step by step can be found on my Youtube channel - jennings644

There are other sewing items that I've made, like these old Tatting tables. Again, using chipboard!

I created these too, using bits of card with seed beads for buttons, mini mini spools and placed them under the domes like a display unit

The following is one of my first Miniature of a sewing room that I created online

I did it in a Shadow box

These little units are so easy to create and take no time at all
