I'd always wanted to create a Gentleman's Study! Years ago, I'd created the Gentleman's Desk (as shown below) and loved it, so I set about creating this one and I enjoyed every minute of it. I used foam board for the walls and floor, covering them both with patterned card stock. Using pale green card and unit trimming brought the room together.
As you can see, there are some quirky things included on the desk, like a wishbone 😃, that's how my mind works sometimes lol. Waste paper bins are generally created from thimbles or bottle caps etc. The corner lamp is made from wire and bead caps. The rug from patterned craft card and the books from foam board and covered in either paper or leather.
The bookshelf and the desk were made from foam board and match boxes. The candlestick was created from bead caps and a piece of a glue stick. Even the seat cover was made from foam board and covered in patterned paper.
I collected various free images from the internet for maps and cars etc. The lamp was made from wire and large bead caps.
I try to make every room look lifelike and try to imagine what I would want if it were my own room.
I created the dog basket from foamboard and covered it in matching papers that I'd used for the room. The bones came from a beaded necklace and as the beads actually looked like bones, they were perfect for this project.
Now I could easily work in a room like this... not for long though as I know mine would end up a mess lol. Hence why I have to keep sorting my craft room! 😊
On my Youtube channel, jennings644, I share how to create most of what is seen and I use very little shop bought items as I prefer to make it all myself
The Gentleman's Desk
I had great fun creating this little gem, the books were make using card and bound in leather to match the desk top blotter. The pipe was made from a bead, and a piece of wire. The pencils from skewers etc, the telephone from a thimble, the lamp was created from wire, beads and a large bead cap for the shade. The filofax was also created from wire, chipboard and card.
The desk itself is made from Cigarette cartons and Chipboard and topped off with mini doorknobs
Pencils are easy to create, skewers shaved off at one end and then coloured to suit
Other things like this telescope, was created using wooden beads, toothpicks for the legs and rolled paper for the scope. The Globe was a ping pong ball
Other gentlemanly things that can easily be made are these hat stands
This Golf clubs and Caddy set, I made from skewers and chipboard for the club ends. The Caddy was made from rolled card and covered in fabric and leather adornments to finish it off
Walking sticks again as really easy to create, decorate Skewers, add beads for the tops etc and pop them into a thimble, simple and YOU CAN DO IT TOO!
