The Mushroom House

 The Mushroom House

Both the Elf & the Fairy house were great to make, I used a wine bottle for the Fairy house and Jar for the Elf's home! The Elf the house below, was great fun to create and I used fresh moss for its green coverage, but I started off with cutting inch strips of 4mm chipboard (for strength & sturdiness). Each piece was covered in clay and then scored like tree markings. I added a piece like an arm on both the right and left side of the roof in order to create the toadstools.

The links to this actual project on Youtube are below:

Part 1 & Part 2

I used kitchen foil to make the window and door frame, then applied more clay to these.

Then I added the stone work to the walls and more toadstools on the roof as well as by the front door and placed some steps in from of the doorway.

In order to get the base of the toadstools, as if they were peeling with age, I used a thin layer of clay, cut and shaped it with my fingers, ripping it here and there.

Now it was time to start colouring it once it had dried

So I basically gave it wash with a brown acrylic (watered down)

Continuing with the colours, I finished the house

I used lots of plants and foliage to finish off the house

This little Mushroom house was also a lot of  fun to create and the toad stools are all made from clay too. Below is an example of other toadstools that I've created with the link to their video.
