The Old Country Cottage

 Typical Old Fashioned Country Cottage

I do like to see what I can come up with, and I love how some rooms can be split or partitioned off from others. In this Miniature, I decided to do an old fashioned Country Cottage, its very warm, cosy and comfortable, not to mention packed with lots of things one would need all year long lol

Again, all units were either made from chipboard or Foam board, the floor was created from a cement paste and the kitchen floor from wooden slats. I did create some of the food, but I also added some that I picked up from a carboot sale.

The packages are just foam shapes cut and wrapped in brown paper tied with string, the bucket was made from a plant pot and wire,

This shelving unit is also made from Balsa wood and painted to look more like real wood

The fireplace is made from foam board and the little table & Bellow from Balsa wood.

The bench I bought at a Carboot sale, but I made the curtains from a flowered Ribbon and the chair below was created from Balsa wood and a flat backed bead

The plates were made from pressed card, the rack from chipboard and skewers

I make the wash tubs similar to the wishing wells without the roof on

Made from ribbon and a Skewer

When creating a room, try and imagine its a room you've been in, seen some where and remember to add little bits like this, where I've let the coal fall from the fire. Its the little bits and bobs that can make a Miniature and the more life like you can do them, the better you'll become

Plus, THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX when adding or making your creations, you can save hundreds of pounds on miniatures if you make them yourself and if you sell them, don't be greedy and ask for the big bucks. The reason why Miniature fairs sell everything so expensively is because they can and will NOT TOLERATE someone like me who makes miniatures better and far cheaper, and not because they can't do it. Since miniatures began, they were only ever made for the Elite, as times gone on, they became a COLLECTORS thing with ordinary folk and prices shot up once they let the PUBLIC in and why, because the PUBLIC didn't know any better and never thought of making their own! They will not entertain you once you start saying HOW YOU WOULD DO IT FOR LESS... And I could NEVER get a table at any of these FAIRS because MY PRICES ARE TOO LOW. I also know of a lady that was thrown out of a Fair because she did what I did and kept her prices low... many complained to the management and she was removed with her £50 refund fee I might add!

Once you start a project, you can embellish it all you like or add to it :0)

Like I did here!

Looks great above the sink, all piping made from spare wire

The wood grain effect is easy to do and I have a tutorial on it on my Youtube channel - jennings644

I used heated Filament to create these and when it dried (which is seconds) these last forever.
The lattice sheet is for a pie I will make, the birds nests look so real, the mop heads too and the others are brush heads and buckets a basket

Making your own food from clay is also easy and as long as you colour them carefully, they can look so real and yummy.
